SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 10th, 1926.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, May 10th,
1926. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell,
the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Chambers
and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioned Helvering
absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 3rd, 1926,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance Number 3188 by adding certain
lands to the '1C11 Commercial District and the "B" 'Residence
District, and eliminating the same from the Use Districts in
which they are now located, and by adding certain lands to the
"C" Area District and eliminating the same from the "A" Area
District, as defined in said ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance r�gulating the passing or distribution of hand
ilis, circular`s-u&&-'s mi'1ar advertising matter, in the City of
Salina., and providing for and fixing a license tax therefor, it
and providing for a penalty for the violation of this ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A petition was received asking for the curbing, uttering
and graveling Hancock Street from Crawford Avenue to epublic
Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the curbing and gravel-
ing of Minneapolis Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Osborne
Street.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the City Manager.
Bids were received for concession rights in Oakdale Park
for the season of 1926 as advertised for from:
Henry Schindler, 150.00
N. C. Henshaw, 8125.00
H. 0. Farrar, $125.00
Commissioner Chambers moved that all bids be rejected.
Motion adopted.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and esti-
mate of cost for the graveling of Third Street from Iron Avenue
south to the Smoky Hill River;
For the curbing, guttering and graveling Ash Street from
Missouri Pacific Right -of -Way to Olive Street;
For the curbing and graveling of College Avenue from South
Street to Morrison Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same were adopted and
approved by the Board of Commissioners.
City Manager Ragle submitted the name of C. A. Cassell as
Special Police in Riverside Park without pay from City. Appoint-
ment confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned until Friday, May 14th, 1926 at 5:00 P. M.
