Salina, Kansas. March 24, 1926,
City Commissioners and City Manager,
Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
At a meeting of the City Planning Commission last night,
we voted to recommend to you the establishment of a commercial
district on thefour corners of Pacific and Santa Fe extending
back on all four corners approximately 100'- 0" or as near that
distance as the regular platted lot dimensions will permit.
We voted also to recommend to you the extension of the
light industrial district on East Iron Avenue to include all
of the area on each side of Iron Avenue between thr river and
Third Street.
Vie respectfully make the following suggestions for
your consideration: That a 16t- Oft paved roadway and a 41- Ott
concrete sidewalk be established in line with Mulberry Street
running between Baker and Eleventh Street (in the present alley);
thence thru to Tenth Streetsidewalk.
This would probably necessitate your condemning this 4'- 0"
strip between Eleventh and Tenth Streets. This is suggested
in order to facilitate traffic across these long blocks in
this neighborhood affected.
We are interested in seeing all the paving over town
thoroughly inspected, and as much repair work done to same
as is possible and practicable.
Assuring you or our intended cooperation in making these
suggestions, I am,
Yours very truly,
Chas. 41. Shaver
Chairman of City Planning
Commission.
Commissioner Campbell moved that the first two recommenda-
tions be granted and that the balance be laid upon the table.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
