Regular Meeting of the Board of CommissioAers, March
8th, 1926. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering,
the roll wax called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and
Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Parch 5th, 1926
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation fori the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers,, Camp-
bell and Helvering (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3226.
An ordinance was introduced for third reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance Number 1295 entitled, tAn ordinance
granting to E. S. Alnutt, his heirs, successors and assigns, a fran-
chise for the construction, operation and maintenance of a street
railway system in the City of Salina, Kansas and the right to
use and occupy any and all of the streets in said City for such
purposest by adding a new section, providing for the establish-
ment and operation of a bus line or lines and the abandonment of
a certain line of street railway therein, and the conditions
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers
and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3227.
The follm ing resolution was introduced for second reading:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, that the excavating, grading and graveling
of Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line
of Iron Avenue thence south to the Smoky Hill River in said City,
be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improve-
ment, and that said Third Street be excavated, graded and grav-
elled within the limits above defined in the manner provided by
law.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final ado�tion the roll was called and

The following resolution was introduced for second reading:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas that the curbing, guttering, excavating,
grading and graveling Ash Street in the City of Salina Kansas from
Railway
the west line of the right-of-way of Missouri Pacific Com-
pany to the east line of Olive Otreet in said City be and the same
is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement and that said
Ash 6treet be curbed, guttered, excavated, graded and gravelled
within the limits above defined in the .manner provided by law.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was adopt-
ed as read and on its final ado;t ion the roll was called and the
following vote was had: Ayes: Hel vering, Campbell and Chambers
(3 ) Nays : (0 )
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and gravel-
ing of College 'venue from South Street to Morrison Avenue.
On motion, same was received and ordered filed.
A res olution was presented for first reading providing for
the curbing, excavating grading and graveling College 'venue
from the south line of Aouth Street to the nortgi line ofRorrison
Avenue.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Pool Hall Bond and application was received from Jack V1.
Keller and M. C. Warren for the' location of a pool hall at 130
South Santa "e avenue.
Commissioner Chambers moved that license be not granted.
Motion adopted.

City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be re-
ceived up to and including Monday, March 22nd, 1926 at 5:00 P. M.
for the:
Widening of Seventh Street from "alnut Street to Elm
Street;
For the excavating, grading and gravelir}g Thirteenth Street
from the Union Pacific right-of-way to Grand Avenue;
For the excavating grading and graveling Tenth Street from
Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue;
For the curbing, excavating, grading and graveling Lincoln
Avenue from Ninth Street to Tenth Street.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
