Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners December
21st, 1925. Meeting was called to order by Acting ?payor
Campbell, the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and
Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner
Hargett absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 14th,
1925 and Special Called Meeting of December 16th, 1925 were
read and approved as read.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An Yrdinance
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3192.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assgssments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of alina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, and guttering
Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
ine of Tron Avenue thence south to the Smoky Hill River, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment of
such assessments. It
,On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
alled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
ampbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3193.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of `'alina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, exca-
vating, grading and paving Thirteenth Street in the City of
Salina, Kansas from the south line of Ash Street to the north
line of State Street in said City and relating to and provid-
ing for the collection and payment of such assessments,
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting
itlayor approved the same and is numbered 3194.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
`t An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City
of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of grvVd1#4g Prescott Avenue
�n the City of Jalina, Kansas from the west line of 'leventh
I to the east line of Twelfth Street in said City, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments." ,
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its finals doption the roll was
called and the following vote was had;A�,es: Chambers and
Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Act-
ing Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3195.
City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 2 of mall Contract
Number 2 for the curbing, guttering and paving certain streets
in the City of, Salina, and on motion of Commissioner Chamb-
ers same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance *as introduced entitled: "An ordinanpe mak-
ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll �•.ras
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3196.

A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the curbing, guttering and gaveling of Ellsworth Avenue
from the east line of Santa Re Avenue to the west line of Os-
borne Jtreet. Same was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the requiring a bond to indemnify
the City of Salina against damage or loss and for the faith-
ful compliance with the provisions of all of the ordinances
of the City by all persons, firms or corporations applying for
permits to excavate in the streets, alleys or other public
places in the City of Salina, and repealing all ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance fixing the salaries and compensations to be paid
to certain officers and employees of the City of Salina, Kansas
and repealing certain ordinances and parts of ordinances of
said City.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Chambers moved that the Fire Chief be author-
ized to use part of Kenwood Park, September 6th, 7th and 8th,
1926 for the purpose of putting on a round -up entertainment
under contract of Mid -West Round -Up Company. Motion adopted.
City Manager recommended that the balance in the Santa
Fe "venue Repair Fund, Sewer Fund and Sewage Disposal Fund be
placed in the Unexpended Balance Account.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers recommendation was
adopted.
City Manager Layton recommended that the following
described tracts and parcels of ground be added to and made a
part of the corporate limits of the City of Salina:
Southern Heights west of Sherman Street;
Stack Place south of Gypsum Avenue and east of Ohio
street to Indiana treet;
Walnut Grove Addition south of "alnut Street and west
of Missouri Pacific Railroad Tracks;
Surveyorts Plat 7#8 extending east from Delaware 6treet
on either side of iron 7Fvenue to VanTrinets place.
The above recommendations were generally discussed by the
Board of Commissioners and matter was taken under advisement.
On motion of Commisl oner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned. /
