COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR 11EETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 14th, 1925.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
14th, 1925. Meeting was called to order by '6'cting ?Aayor Campbell,
the roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Chambers re-
sponded. Commissioner Hargett and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutss of the Regular Meeting of December 7th, 19259
were read and approved as read.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering,
excavating, grading and graveling Ellsworth Avenue from Santa Fe
Avenue to Osborne treet. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was received asking for the location of a street
light at the corner of Twelfth Street and "fashington Avenue.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
The following resolution was introduced for second reading:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas that the excavating, grading and surfacing
with sand clay Tenth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from
the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Grand "venue
in said City; and for the curbing, guttering, excavating, grading
and surfacing with sand clay Lincoln Avenue in the City of Salina
Kansas from the wrst line of Ninth Street to the west line of
Tenth Street in said City be and the same is hereby determined to
be a necessary improvement, and that said improvements herein men-
tioned be made within the limits above defined.
Introduced for first reading, December 7th, 1925.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following bote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Campbell
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of graveling Prescott Avenue
in the City of Salina Kansas from the west line of 7leventh Otreet
to the east line of Twelfth Street in said City, and relating
to andUproviding for the collection and payment of such assess-
ments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying speeil
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Third
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of
on Avenue thence south to the Smoky Rill River, and relating
to and providing for the collection and payment of such assess-
ment s. "
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levyings ecial
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the ity of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering excavating,
grading and paving Thirteenth Street in the City of 4lina, Kansas
from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of State
Street in said City, and relating to gnd providing for the collec-
tion and payment of'such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Manager submitted a report recommending the install-
ation of an incandescent light at the intersection of "ash-
ington tivenue and Twelfth Street; and for the installation of
an are light at Bishop and Phillips Streets instead of an
incandescent light as formerly recommended.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers report was adopt-
ed by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance waz introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating and relating to the Mater Works De-
partment of the City of Salina, Kansas, creating and pro-
viding for certain officers and employeez thereof, establish-
ing rates, rules and regulations for the government of
consumers and others concerned, providing for the collection
and disbursement of revenues and for the protection of
water works equipment, prescribing penalties for the viola-
tion of any section hereof and repealing ff11 ordinances and
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roil was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Chambers and Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett --
absent. The Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3191.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commis-
sioners adjourned.
