Regular TLeeting of the Board of Commissioners, i)ecember
7th, 14325. Taeeting was called to order by mayor Hargett, the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and Camp-
bell responded. City Attorney Norris absent.
The minutes of the I{egular T:Ieeting of November 30th,
1925 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating and relating to the Water 'Works Depart-
ment of the City of Salina, Kansas, creating and providing for
certain officers and employees thereof and regulating the
management thereof, establishing rates, rules and regulations
for the government of consumers and others concerned, providing
for the collection and disbursement of revenues and .for the
protection of waterworks equipment, prescribing penalties for
the violation of any section hereof and repealing all ordinances
and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, same was referred

to the Board of Commissioners.

A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the excavating, grading and graveling Tenth Street from
Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue; and for the curbing, guttering,
excavating and graveling Lincolnavenuefrom Ninth btreet to
Tenth Street.
On ~notion, same was referred to the Board of Commission -
ers.
A comYnun,_cation was received from Iii. 'I. Wiseman, secretary
of. I:Zid-hest Found -Up, asking for use of Kenwood Park, September
6th, 7th and 8th, 1926, at which time a rodeo is to be held
in said park.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers permission was granted
to the above named party for the use of Kenwood Park on the
dates above mentioned.
lr'. A. Layton, submitted his resignation as City T.1anager
of the City of Salina, as follows:
Salina , Kansas. December 7th, 1925.
To the City Commissioners of the City
of 6a ling , Kansas.
Gentlemen:
I desire to place my resignation as City Tanager of
the City of Salina in your hands for your disposal to become
effective February 1st, 1926.
I trust that your final action may be in the affirma-
tive in this matter.

Commissioner Campbell moved that same be accepted, the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell
and Chambers (2) Nays: Hargett (1)
J. S: Hzrgett submitted his resignation as City Commission-
