11-23-1925 Minutes124 COMMISSIONS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONrERS ROOM, SA LINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 23rd, 1925. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November 23rd, 1925. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and Campbell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 16th, 1925 were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced for second reading: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board. of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the excavating, grading and surfacing with sand clay Thirteenth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the north line of Union Pacific Right - of -gay to south line of Grand Avenue -in said City be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Thirteenth Street be excavated, graded and sur- faced with sand clay within the limits above defined, in the manner provided by law. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Harpett, Chambers and Campbell 3) Nays: (0) An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and lev=ying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering WashinZton Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of�Eleventh Street to the east line of Phillips Street in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was .called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The 'payor approved the same and is numbered 3182. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of '�alina, Kansas to pay the cosi; of curbing and guttering Baker Street in the City of Galina, Kansas from the south line o South Street to the north line of Morrison Avenue in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the • roll was called and the following vote was had- Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The 4ayor approved the same and is numbered 3183. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying spedial assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the city of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttring Twelfth Street in the City of Salina-, Kansas from the south line of Washington Avenue to the north line of Prescott- Aven-ue-in said City, and relating to and providing for the col- lection and payment of such assessments. 101 On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance :gas read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The ARayor approved the same and.is numbered 3184. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and appprtioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and graveling; Jewell Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the east line of Santa Fe Avenue to the west line of Osborne Street in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chamb- ers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3185, An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Phil- lips Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of 'Aashington Avenue to the north line of 14orrison. Avenue in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3186. An ordinance was introduced for sem nd reading entitled: ItAn ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Prescott Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Twelfth Street in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance Yras read and adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The payor approved the same and is numbered 3187. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance dividing the City of Salina, Kansas , ' into Zones or Districts and regulating and restricting the location of trades and industries and the location, erection, alteration and repair of buildings designed for specified uses; and the uses of land within each of such Districts or Zones, and estab- lishing regulations relating thereto, prescribing a penalty for the violation of its tens and repealing all ordinances inconsistent with its terms. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The 14ayor approved the same and is numbered 3188. A petition was presented asking for the location of a • street light at the corner of Bishop Street and Phillips Street. Same was referred to the City manager.
