11-02-1925 MinutesI t COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR 1 -METING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. NOVEMBER 2nd, 1925. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November 2nd, 1925. Meeting was called to order by 1jayor Hargett the 6ampbell roll was called -and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 26th, 1925, and Adjourned Meeting of October 27th, 1925 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes. it On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3175. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had, Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Payor approved the same and is numbered 3176. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting a contract for the curbing and guttering of Third Street from the south line of Iron Avenin, south to the Smoky IT -i-11 in the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting a contract for the excavating and grading, curbing, gutter- ing and paving Thirteenth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Otate Street in the City of 'Salina, Kansas." On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting a contract for the excavating and §rading and surfacing with sand clay Prescott Avenue in the City of a lana, nansas from the west line of Eleventh street to the east line of Twelfth Street in said City." On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Planning Commission presented final report and recom- mendations as to zones or districts and regulations relating thereto, in form of an ordinance defining such zones and regula- tions., said report being in the form of an ordinance entitled as follows: "An ordinance dividing the City of Salina, r'ansas into Zones or Districts and regulating and restricting the location of trades and industries, and the location, erection, alteration and repair of buildings designed for specified uses; and the uses of land within each of such Districts or Zones, and establishing regulations relating thereto, prescribing a penalty for the viola- tion of itR terms and repealing all ordinances inconsistent with its terms. On motion, said final report was ordered filed with the City Clerk and thereupon, on motion of Commissioner Chambers said ordinance, entitled as above, was introduced for first reading. 119 The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of: Third Street from Iron Avenue south to the Smoky Hill Diver; Curbing, guttering and ;a ving Thirteenth Street from Ash Street to State Street; Surfacing with sand clay, Prescott 'venue from Eleventh Street to Twelfth Street., were received and on motion of Commissioner Campbell, Monday November 9th, 1925 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting at which time the reports will be taken up and acted upon by the Board of Commissioners, and that all persons af- fected by such improvements can be present and heard if they so desire; and that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper as provided by law, A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light at the corner of Tenth Street and South Street. On motion, same was referred to the City 14anager. A petition was presented asking for the graveling of Thirteenth Street from the north line of Union Pacific Right-of-way to urand -venue. On motion, same was referred to the City Manager. City Manager Layton appointed R. J. Paulette as City I%ngineer of the City of Salina, 'Lansas , and on motion of Commissioner Chambers appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Boardof Commissioners adjourned. 'Ci'City.
