OCTOBER 26th, 1925.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October
26th, 1925. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett,
the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and
Campbell and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 19th,
1925 were read and approved as read.
The following resolution was introduced for second read -
ing :
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salira , Kansas that the excavating, grading and paving
of Baker Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Sout reet to the north line of Morrison Avenue in
said City be and the same is hereby determined to be a neces-
sary improvement, and that said Baker Street be excavated,
graded and paved within the limits above deifined in the man-
ner provided by law.
Introduced for first reading, October 19th, 1925.
Adopted and approved -------- October 26th, 1925.

adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called

The City Planning Commission submitted a tentative
report, pursuant to the requirements of Ordinance lumber
3174 as follows:
Salina, Kansas. October 26th, 1925.
Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas.
Gentlemen:
Pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance Number 3174,
we beg to submit herewith our tentative report as called
for by said Ordinance containing our recommendation as to
boundaries of Districts or Zones to be established in the
City of Salina in which the location of trades and industries
and the location, erection, alteration and repair of build-
ings designed for specified uses, and the uses of land within
each such District or Zone, are to be regulated and restricted,
such tentative report attached hereto being in the form of an
ordinance setting forth such regulations and restrictions.

On motion same was ordered filed with the City Clerk
pending the final report to be submitted as required by Ordi-
nance Number 3174.
L. W. Rexroad submitted performance bond and maintenance
bond for the construction of certain curbing and guttering and
paving certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion, same was referred to the City Attorney.
Bias for the euribing and guttering of Third Street
from Iron A enue south to Smoky Hill River; graveling
Prescott A 9nue from Eleventh. to Twelfth Streets; curbing,
guttering dnd paving Thirteenth Street from Ash Street to
State Street as advertisied f or were received from:
L. Vii. Rexroad, Salina Kansas.
M. 111. Watson, Hill City, Kansas.

Commissioner Chambers moved that contract be awarded to
L.
W. Rexroad as per his bid submitted, and that certified
check be returned to M. W. Watson. Motion adopted.
Mayor Hargett appointed W. S. Frey, Chas. J. Peck and
Clarence Swearingen to act as appraisers in ascertaining the
valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground on which to
base the cost of curbing and guttering Third Street from
Iron Avenue south to Smoky Hill River; graveling Prescott Avenue
from Eleventh to Twelfth Streets; and for the curbing, guttering
and paving Thirteenth Street from Ash Street to State Street.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the appointments were
confirmed.
The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and
surfacing with sand clay Jewell Avenue from Santa Fe Avenin
to Osborne Street;
Curbing and guttering Baker Street from South Street
to Morrison Avenue;
Prescott Avenue from Eleventh to Twelfth Streets;
Twelfth Street from Washington Avenue to Prescott �
Avenue;
Washington Avenue from Eleventh Street to Phil-
lips Street;
Phillips Street from Washington Avenue to Morris-
on Avenue,
were received and on motion of Commissioner Chambers, Monday,
November 2nd, 1925 was designated as a special meeting at
which time all of the above named reports will be tkaen up
and acted upon by the Board of Commissioners, and that all
persons #aving any complaint to make as to such appraisement
can be present and heard if they so deires, and that the City
Clerk give notice in the official City paper as provided by
law.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners
adjourned until Tuesday, October 27th, 1925 at 10:00 A. M.
