Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, 6he roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and ampbell and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Fleeting of October 5th, 1025 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading; entitled: 'TAn ordinance authorizing and directing the issuance, sale and delivery of W605,082.00 of negotialble, coupon bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of paying the award found, ascertained and reported by the Commission appointed for such purpose as a fair cash value of the plant of the Salina °'ater Works 6ompany; and "providing for the levy of a tax for the payment of the same. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and acb pteby sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3166. City ]e'anager Layton appointed L. M. Srack as Acting City Engineer of the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Chambers appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Acting City Engineer submitted Paving Estimate Number 1, for work completed under Paving Contract dated August 31st, 1925. , and same was ordered filed. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinange mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ijargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The "'ayor approved the same and is nwmbered 3167. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating the transfer and hauling of garbage, offal and other offensive matter through or over the public streets, alleys and thoroughfapes of the City of Salina, Kansas, defining the violation t`,ereof as a meisdeneanor, and providing the penalty for such violation. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote rias had; Ayes: Hargett, Chamb- ers and Campbell (3) (0) The -.:ayor approved the same and is numbered 3168. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering and for the paving of Thirteenth Street in the City of Salina, r'ansas from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of State Street in said City and providing for the cost thereof, hod; t -he same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas ffom the south line of Tron -venue thence south to the Smolcy Dill River in said City, and ,providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed. and the ri nner of payment therefor."- On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following votetiraT had; Ayres: N-ar- gett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: Q) The payor ap- proved the same and is numbered 3170. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the graveling with sand clay type surface of Prescott Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the vrest line of Zleventh Street to the east line of Tweifth Street in said City,, and providing for the cost thereof, how the Rame-shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was reed and adopted by sections and on its f .nal adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had: Ayes, Hargett, Chambers and Campbell �3) Nays: (0) The 4'1ayor approved the same and ,is numbered 3171. City ?;tanager appointed Robert Cox as night fireman at the City ITall. - On motion of Commissioner Campbell appointment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
