OCTOBER 5th, 1925.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 5th,
1925. Meeting was called to order by 1.1ayor Hargett the roll
was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and dampbell and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 28th, 1925,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the folloir-iing vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers
and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbers d 3164.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance authorizing the construction and use of a sewer in
Eleventh Street between Park and Elm Street in the City of Salina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Camp-
bell (3) Nays: (0) The 1:ayor approved the same and is numbered
3165.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance authorizing and directing the issuance, sale and
delivery of ��605,082.00 of negotiable, coupon bonds of the City
of Salina, Kansas for the purpose of paying the award found, as-
certained and reported by the Commission appointed for such purpose,
as a fair cash value of the plant of the Salina 'nater .forks Company,
and providing for the levy of a tax for the payment of the same.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance regulating the transfer and hauling of garbage, offal
and other offensive matter through or over the public streets,
alleys and thoroughfares of the City of Salina, Kansas, defining the
violation thereof as a misdemeanor, and providing the penalty for
such violation."
On :notion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance regulating vehicular traffic and the parking of vehicles
on certain streets and public thoroughfares in the City of Salina,
Kansas, defining the violation thereof as a misdemeanor and provid-
ing a penalty for such violation."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the graveling with sand clay type surface
of .Prescott Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line
of Eleventh Street to the east line of Twelfth Street in said City,
and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assesse 1
and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambe;,s same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering and for the paving
of Thirteenth Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Ash Street to the north line of State Street in said City,
and providing for the cost thereof.- how the same shall be assessed
and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Cormnissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance -was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of
Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Iron Avenue thence south to the Smolrj Kill River
in said City, and providing for the cost thereof, hoer the
same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A report from the Salina iiunicipal Band from April lst ,
1925 to June 30th, 1925 was received and ordered filed.
City Manager W. A. Layton and City Clerk Chas. E. Banker,
were selected as two delegates to attend annual meeting of
League of Kansas Municipalities to be held at Ottawa, Kansas,
October 21st, 22nd and 23rd, 1925.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
