09-21-1925 Minutes93 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. i COMMISSIONERS ROOM, i SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 21sct, 1925. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 21st, 1925. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and Campbell and City tittorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 14th, 19252 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled:"An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous p uurposes. On motion of Commissioner ampbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was caled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Nayor approved the same and is num- bered 3162. The following resolution was introduced for second reading: BE IT RESOLVED -by the Board of Commissioners of th@ City �'rawford of Salina, Kansas that the curbing, guttering and paving `venue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of ent trreet—t6 the east line of Eleventh Street in said City, be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Crawford Avenue be curbed, guttered and paved within the limits above defined in the manner provided by law. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol- lowing vote was had; Ayes: Hargett., Chambers and Campbell (3 ) Nays: )(0) A notification was received from the Royal Indemnity Company notifying the City of the cancellation of taxi bond of W. B. Me Mickle to take effect within ten days after date of notice, said notice being dated September 18th, 1925. Commissioner Chambers moved that the City Clerk notify 1,7r. McMickle that it would be necessary for him to furnish a new policy covering this risk within ten days from date of notice or license will be revoked. A communication was received from the Union Pacific Railroad Company donating the old McPherson Branch Depot that was located on South Fourth Street to the City of Salina to be used as a Club House in Kenwood Park, provided that the City would remove said j building and clean the grounds without any expense to the Railroad Company. Commissioner Chambers moved that the proposition be accepted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "°'n ordinance vacating a portion of Osborne Street from the south line of Republic Avenue to the north line of Cloud Street in the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was presented asking for the location of a street light at the corner of Fourth and Rahm Streets., and same was referred to the City Ttianager. q4 City 1,1anager Layton reported favorably on the petition asking for the locatibn of a street light at the corner of Fourth Street and Mal -berry Street. On Iiotion of Commissioner Chambers, report was adopted by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission- ers adjourned. City Ulerk.
