JULY 27th, 1925.
Vegular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July
27th, 1925. Meeting was tailed to order by Mayor Hargett,
the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers
and Campbell and City Attorney Dorris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 20th, 19252
were read and approved as read.
An Ordinance was Introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to Union Pacific Railroad Company, its
successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain and
operate a standard gauge railroad track along Fourth Street
from a point 282 feet south of the south line of Elm street,
thence northerly and oever Fourth Street and across the inter-
section of Elm and Fourth Street to a point near the south
line of Lot Thirty -Seven (37) on Fourth Street in the City
of Salina, Kansas. `t

On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was
read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the
roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Har-
gett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 3134.
An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting boating or canoeing on the Smoky
Hill River from the south line of the Iron Avenue Bridge to
the dam across said river north of said bridge adjacent to the
present location of the Ilestern Star trill, making the viola-
tion hereof a misdemeanor and providing a penalty for such
violation."
On m6tion, same was referred to the Board of Commis-
sioners.
A petition was presented asking for the widening of
Seventh Street from Walnut Street to Elm Streets.
On motion, same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the narrowing of
Osborne Street from Republic Avenue to Cloud Street.
On same was referred to the City ATanager.

A resolution was introduced for first reading providing
for the re -curbing and guttering of Seventh Street from
Walnut Street to Elm Street.
On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commission-
ers.
A res olution was introduced for first reading providng
for the graveling of Prescott Avenue from Eleventh Street to
Xwelfth Street.
On motion, same was referred to the Board of Commission-
ers.
Commissioner Campbell, moved that the Mayor be author-
ized to sign contract with the Country Club Development Company
for the extension of water main in the tract of ground owned
by said company.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
