Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 20th,
1925. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Campbell,
the roll was called and Commissioners Chambers. -and Campbell and
City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner hargett absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 13th, 1925,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Campbell
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 3129.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of paving the alley running north
and south between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from the
south line of Walnut Street south 225 feet in said City, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Camp-
bell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting 116yor
approved the same and is numberer 3130.
An ordinance was introduced for'second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
alina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Cedar Street
in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of Phillips Street
to the east line of College Avenue in said City, and relating to ,:
and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and
Campbell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner bargett absent. Feting
Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3131.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levyign special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina Kansas to pay the cost of re -curbing and guttering
Santa rhe Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south
line of Walnut Otreet to the north line of Mulberry Street in said
City, and relating to and A providing for the collection and pay-
ment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Camp-
bell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting Mayor
Campbell approved the same and is numbered 3132.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of excavating-, grading and paving
Second Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the south
'fine of Walnut Street to the north line of mulberry Street in s aid
City., -and relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Camp-
bell (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent. Acting Mayor
Campbell approved the same and is numbered 3133.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance granting to Union Pacific Railroad Company,
its successors and assigns, the right to construct, maintain
and operate a standard gauge railroad track along Fourth
Street from a point 282 feet south of the south line of Elm
Street, thence northerly and over Fourth Street and across
the intersection of Elm and Fourth Street to a point near
the south line of Lot Thirty -Seven (37) on Fourth Street in
the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
The following resolution was introduced for second read -
ing :
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina, nansas that the curbing, guttering and
gravelin,g of Harsh Street in the City of Salina, t�a.nsas from
the west line of Santa a Avenue to the east line of Ninth
Street in said City be and the same is hereby determined to
be a necessary improvement, and that said Harsh Street be
curbed, guttered and gravelled within the limits above defined
in the manner providdd by law. -
Introduced for first reading, July 13th, 1925.
Adopted and approved -------- July 20th, 1925.

On motion of Commisaoner Chambers the resolution was
adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Chambers and Campbell
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hargett absent.
A petition was presented asking for the location of a
street light at the corner of College Avenue and University
Place. Same was referred to the City Manager.
A remonstrance was received protesting against the
curbing and guttering of_�i_a_ssh_ingt_on Avenue from Eleventh
Street to 'Twelfth Street. Same was referred to the City
Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission- - -
ers adjourned.
