07-13-1925 Minutes`7 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISa ONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 13th, 1925. Regular Iseeting of the Board of Commissioners July 13th, 1925. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and Campbell and City Attorney Norris responded. i The minutes of the Special Meeting of July 6th, 1925; and "egular Meeting of July 6th, 1925 were read and approved as read. The following resolution was introduced for second reading: BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing and guttering of Third Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of lroii Avenue thence south to the Smoky Hill River in said City be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said Third Street be curbed and guttered within the limits above defined in the manner provided by law. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assgssments on tertian lots and pieces of ground in the City of alina, Kansas to pay the cost of paving the alleX running north and south between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh treet from the south line of Walnut Street south 225 feet in said City, and relating to and prpiding for the collection and payment of such assessments.' I On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of curbing and guttering cedar Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of Ph�lips Street to the east line of College Avenue in said City, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of re -curbing and guttering Santa Fe Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of walnut -treet to the north line of Mulberry Stret in said City and relating to and providing for the collection and payment 01 such assessments."' On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. 72 An Ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Galina, Kansas, to pay the cost of excavating, gading and paving Second street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the soutF line of Walnut Street to the north line of Mulberry Street in said City, and relating to an4 providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was prdsented asking for the graveling of Prescott Avenue from Eleventh to Twelfth Streets. Same was referred to the City Manager. A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering of Thirteenth Street from Ash Street to State Street. Same was referred to the City Manager. Building Inspector, Chas. M. Hagler, reeorpmended that a permit be issued to Beech Oil Company for the construction of a storage tank on the east side of Front Street near Santa Fe Railroad tracks. A petition was presented asking for the location of a filling station at the corener of Seventh and Ash Streets. On motion of Commissioner Chambers permission was grant - ed. Application, together with indemnity and public lia- bility policy was received from W. B. McMickle. On motion, same was approved by the Board of Commis- sioners. ommis- sioners.
