Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 29th, 1925. 11eeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Camp ell, the roll was called and Commissione-s Chambers and Campbell and City Attorney Norris responded. Commission- er Hargett absent. The minutes of the Regular r:-eeting of June 22nd, 1925, were read and approved as read. An ordinance -,,as introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes. . On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance ,.,as read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Camp- bell and Chambers (2) Nays: (0) Comrlissioner Hargett absent. Acting =ayor approved the same and is numbered 3123. The following resolution vias introduced for second read - ing: BE IT HES OLVED by the Board of Commis goners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the curbing and guttering of 4ashington Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Phillips Street in said City be and the same is hereby determined to be a necessary improvement, and that said °ashington Avenue be curbed and guttered within the limits above defined in the ,Wanner provided by law. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Cormnissioners. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance specifying and selecting the paving material to be used and letting a contract for the excavating, grading and paving of "econd Street in the City of Salina, Kansas from the south line of alnut-greet to the north line of Mulberry Street in said City.'' On motion of Commissioner Chambers same ,-•las referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first rending entitled: "An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting a contract for the curbing and guttering of Cedar Street in the City of Salina, bansas from the :lest line of fillips Street to the east line of College Avenue in said City.'' On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was refereed to the Board of Commissioners. A petition was received asking for the curbing and gutter- ing of Third Street from iron avenue south to the Smoky Hill River. Same was referred to the City 1':1anager. Automobile Public Liability and Property "amage Policies were received from: Jack Gasaway, R. A. Mayo A."i. Yiller, 'il. B. YcMickle, C. 0. Sandberg, Jas. McDade. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same were adopted by the Board of Commissioners as the City Attorney had approved said policies. The appraisers reports for the curbing and guttering of Cedar treet from Phillips street to College Avenue; excavating and pavii y econd Street from Walnut street to Mulberry street; re -curbing and gutterintg Santa Fe Avenue from °1alnut treet to Thlberry Street; and for the excavating and paving of alley bet7ven Santa Fe "venue and Seventh Street from "alnut Atreet Bout! 225 feet were received, and on motion of Commissioner Chambers, Monday, , July 6th, 1925 at 5:00 P. M. was designated as a special meeting, at which time and place the appraisers reports -will be taken up and acted upon by the Board of Commissioners and that all persons affected by such improvements can be present and heard if they so desire, and that the City Clerk give notice in the official City paper as provided by law. Bids for the sale of "12,189.42 raving Bonds as ad- vertised for were received from: Brown & Crwnmer , Vlichita , Kansas. First Trust Company, Wichita., Yiansas. Shavinee Investment Co.,, -Topeka, Kansas. Fidelity Iaational Bank Trust Co. Kansas City, l;,iissauri. Chas. 1'i. Hagler, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Chambers moved that contract be aviarded to Brown & CrL.unmer of `,Jichita, Kansas, for par, accrued interest, premium of X15.10 per thousand also to furnish blank bonds. i':iotion adopted.
