Meeting was called to order by Mayor -�argett, the roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Chambers and Campbell responded. City Attorney Norris absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 15th, 1925, were read and approved as read. Bids for the curbing and guttering and paving of certain streets as advertised for were received from: L. 1. Rexroad, Salina, t-ansas. Fred F. Eberhardt., Salina, Kansas. J. H. Shears & Sons, Hutchinson, Kansas. ISI. R. Amerman, Wichita, Kansas. J. L. RAyl, Hutchinson, Kansas. Commissioner Chambers moved that contract be awarded to L.. Rexroad as per his bid submitted, and that the certified checks be returned bo the unsuccessful bidders. Motion adopt- ed. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinaneR mak- ing an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chambers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The 14ayor approved the same and is numbered 3121. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a portion of Tenth Street in the City of Jalina, lying between Blocks Seven (7) and Eight (8) in Depot Addition, at the intersection of said street with. the right-of-way of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Chamb- ers and Campbell (3) Nays: (0) The j°payor approved the same and is numbered 3122. A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for the curbing and guttering of Phillips Street from the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line of Iflashington Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to the Board of Commissioners, A resolution was introduced for first reading providing for the curbing and guttering of Washington Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line �TTiillips Street. On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Mayor Hargett appointed 17. S. Frey, C. J. Peck and Clar- ence Swearingen to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valua- tion of certain lots and pieces of land on which to base the cost of: Paving Second Street from Walnut to Mulberry; Curbing and guttering Cedar Street from Phillips to Colleo Paving A1�1e between Santa Fe and Seventh Street _from . 225 feet; V a nu.t south ie -curbing and guttering Santa Fe Avenue from tiVlalnut Street to Mulberry Street. On motion of Commissioner Campbell the appointments were confirmed. On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commission- ers adjourned.
