Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January 19th, 1925, Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Corurissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the j`egular Meeting of January 12th, 1925 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The 1-layor approved the sarge and is numbered 3062. The following resolution was introduced: li tiEAS, there is now in the handy of the City Treas- urer of Salina, Kansas, to the credit of the Vlater, Light Heat and rower Fund of said City, a sum of money in excess of _2`35,000.00 which is not bearing interest and which the City of Salina will not be required to expend within the next six (6) months, I401,V THEREFORE P BE IT 13 ;SOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas that the City Treasurer of said City be and he is hereby authorized and directed to deposit in the approved depositaries of the City of Salina, Kansas the sum of N353,000.00 on Time Certificates of Deposit drawing 44 interest, for a period of not to exceed six (61 months, and that said sum of X35,000.00 in said i+dater, Light eat and router Fund of the City of Salina, x,a.nsas be transferred from the checking accounts in which it is now deposited to Time Certificates of Leposit as aforesaid. On motion of Commissioner Chambers the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) A bill from the Salina Nater Works Company for hydrant rental from July lst to December 31st, 1924 in the amount of $7150.00 was received, and on motion of Commissioner Dyar the claim was not allowed by reason of same being excessive. Ylotion adopted. A claim from O1of Nelson in the amount of u5391.36 was receit,ed. Conm:issioner Dyar moved that the claim be disallowed for the reason that the City denies liability on the claim as presented. On motion of CorIInissioner Chambers, Board of Commission- ers adjourned. city u erk.
