SALINA, KANSAS.
DECEMBER 29th, 1924.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
29th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett . the
roll was called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 22nd, 1924
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making; appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll'
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3055.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance u
making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll'
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
sa me and is numbered 3056.
City' h-gineer submitted .Estimate Number 3, for the
re -curbing, guttering and -re -paving Fifth Street from':Ial-
nut Street to Ash street, and on motion of Commissioners
Dyar same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance
making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll '
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes : Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Tlayor approved the
same and is numbered 3057.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance defining public dances and definin certain duties
and conferring certain powers upon the Board of ublic Wel-
-"are in relation to dances in the City of Salina, providing for
the issuance of permits for the holding of such dances, and
authorizing the supervision thereof; and providing a penalty
for the violation of tDis ordinance, and repealing section
Four (4) of Ordinance umber 2414 of the City of alina,
Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll,
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The i.Layor approved the
same and is numbered 3058.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinancd defining -the duties of certain officers of the
City of Salina, Kansas, and repealing Sections 5 and'll of
Ordinance Number 280, passed and approved June 24th; 1879
and section 4 of Ordinance Number 769 approved J\lay 25th, 1891."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll
was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett,
Dyar and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3059.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance creating a certain office and authorizing the
City 1,anager to fill the same by appointment, and providing
for the payment of a salary therefor and repealing all ordi-
nances in conflict herewith.

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the salaries and compensation of cer-
tain officers and employees of the City of Sa linea , Kansas, and
repealing certain parts of Ordinance Number 2906 of the City
of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
