COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR JWTING.

DECEMBER 1st, 1924.
Regular sleeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City
of Salina, Kansas, December lst, 1924. Meeting was called to
order by Mayor Hargett, the roll was called and Commissioners
Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular 111vieeting of November 24th, 1924
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making ap-
propriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adotion the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: rgett, Dyar and Chamb-
ers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3047.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance regulating the licensing and limiting the operation
of vehicles upon the streets and avenues of the City of Salina,
Kansas, engaged in the carrying of passengers for hire between
fixed points within the City of Salina, Kansas, or between points
within the City of Salina, Kansas , and without said City of
Salina, Kansas, or between points wholly without the City of
Salina, Kansas, but whose route lies over and through the streets
and avenues within said City of Salina, and providing penalties
for the violation of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the follwoing vote was had; Ayes Hargett, Dyar
and Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3048.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance establishing regulations for the safety of the
public and of drivers and occupants of certain vehicles and
regulating the use of certain vehicles upon and in the public
streets, alleys and thoroughfares of the City of Salina, Kansas,
for the purpose of securing the safety of the public and of
the drivers and occupants of such vehicles. If

Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the sweeping or depositing of dust,
dirt, papers, sweepings or other refuse from the interior of any
store , office or other building or part thereof in the city of
Salina upon or in any public sidewalk, street or alley in said
City, and providing a penalty for the violation of this ordi-
nance*

On motion of Commissioner Chambers same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for forst reading entitled:
"An ordinance defining public dances and defining certain
duties and conferring certain powers upon the Board of Public
Welfare in relation to dances in the City of Salina, providing
for the issuance of permits for the holding of such dances and
authorizing the supervision thereof and providing a penalty
for the violation of this ordinance and repealing SecI�ion 4 of
Ordinance i�umber 2414 of the City of Salina, Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar, Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
