NOVEMBER 24th, 1924.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, November
24th, 1924. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hargett, the
roll wez called and Commissioners Hargett, Dyar and Chambers and
City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Special Meeting of November 17th, 1924;
and the Regular Meeting of November l7th, 19243, were read and
approved as read.
- City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 1, for the re -curb-
ing, guttering and re -paving of Fifth Street from` alnut Street
to Ash Street, and on motion of Commissioner Dyar same was approved
by the Board of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes : Hargett, Dyar and Chambers
(3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3045.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Ordinance Number 3003 entitled, 'An ordinanm
cre2ting the office of Electrical Inspector in and for the City
of alina, Kansas; regulating and defining the duties of such
office and establishing rules and regulations concerning the in-
stallation, operation and maintenance of electrical wiring and
appliances, and fixing penalties for the violation of the provis-
ions of this ordinance; and repealin g Ordinance Number 2500 and
all other ordinances in conflict with this ordinances, by adding
thereto a new section to be known as Section "V' providing that
no permit be issued under said ordinance until a license as re-
quired thereby shall have been first secured and paid for."
On motion of Commissioner Chambers the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hargett, Dyar and
Chambers (3) Nays: (0) The-'iayor approved the same and is
numbered 3046.
Mayor Hargett appointed Chas. A. Haskins as the representa-
tive for the City of Salina, Board of Appraisers to appraise the
property of the Salina ''later Works Company as provided in the
proceedings for the purchase of such property now pending in the
United States District Court.
On motion of Commissioner Dyar the appointment was con-
firmed.
The contract from Harold Holler asking for the use of
automobile race track in Kenwood Park July 4th, 1925, and Septem-
ber 7th, 1925 was presented, and on motion same 1.,Tas signed by
the Mayor and Commissioners.
J. L. Rayl presented his T•'ia.intenance Bond for the re -curbing,
guttering and paving of Fifth Street from Flalnut Street to Ash
Street, and on motion of Commissioner Dyar same was adopted and
approved by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Chambers Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
