COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS. --
JULY, 140 1930.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 14, 1930.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called
and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney
Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 7, 1930, were read
and approved as read. --
Bids for the construction of curbing and guttering on Woodland
Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Seventh Street, as advertised for
were received from:
L. W. Rexroad
R. C. S nyder.
Commissioner Dodds moved that contract for the curbing and
guttering of Woodland Avenue from Santa Fe Avenue to Seventh Street
be awarded to L. W. RExroad, as per his bid submitted, and that
certified check be returned to unsuccessful bidder, and that the
Mayor be authorized to sign to sign the contract on behalf of the
City for such work with L. W. Rexroad. Motion adopted.
Bids for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Nurlber
10 and 160 as advertised for were received from:
L. W. Rexroad
R. C. Snyder.
Commissioner Dodds moved that dontract be awarded to R. C. -
Snyder for the construction of Lateral Sanitary sewers No. 147 and 160,
as per his bid submitted, and that certified check be returned to
unsuccessful bidder, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the —
contract on behalf of the Cit -r for such work with R. C. S nyder.
Motion adopted.
Bids for the construction of certain sidewalks as provided
by Ordinance No. 3803, as advertised for, were received from:
R. C. Snyder,
W. J. Saum,
Emil Larsen
C. B. Briscoe.
Commissioner Stevenson moved that contract for the construction
of sidewalks as provided in Ordinance No. 3803 be awarded to C. B.
Briscoe as per his bid submitted, and that certified check be returned
to unsuccessful bidders, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign
contract on behalf of the City for such work with C. B. Briscoe.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: t1Pn
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to - pay the
cost of paving Prescott Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street
to the east line of TwelrthStreet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and
relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such
assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson
(3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3928.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Chicago Street
from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of te�T)reet
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the .
collection and payment of such assessments.

On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3929.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay
the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Seventh Street from the
north line of Elm Street to the south line oT Nor-tHStreet in the
City ofS alina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collect-
ion and payment of such assessments."

On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Application for Pool Hall License for the last half of 1930,
were received from:
The Smoker
The Club
Geo. Holzmeister
Johns. Gordon
C. M. Allen
White Way Pool Hall
Rex Smoker.
j Commissioner Dodds moved that license be granted to the
above named pool halls for the last half of 1930. Motion adopted.

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called
and Commissioners Helvering and Dodds and City Attorney Norris
responded. Commissioner Stevenson absent.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, to pa y
the cost of curbing, guttering Woodland Avenue from the west line
of Santa Fe Avenue to the east 11ne of 13evenfHStreet in the City of
Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
