Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 30, 1930.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called
and Commissioners Helvering and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris
responded. Commissioner Dodds absent.
The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of June 23, 1930 and Regular
Meeting of June 27, 1930 were read and approved as read.

i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay
the cost of paving Center Street from the east line of Fifth Street
to entrance to Kenwood ar e City of Salina, Kansas, and relating
to and providing foe the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll wase alled and
the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3902.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of curbing, guttering and paving Columbia Avenue from the south
line of -'�shStreet to the north line of Iron Avenue in the City of
Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and
payment of such assessments. it
On motion of Commissioner StevenBon the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adption the roll was called
and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3903.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: 111`n
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay
' the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Ellsworth Avenue from the
west line of Highland Avenue to the east line of Ninth Otreet in the
City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the col-
lection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3904.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of curbing, guttering and paving Highland Avenue from the south
line of Claflin Avenue to the north line of Cloud`Stre'et in the City
of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read_ and
adopted by sect1ons and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3905.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of curbing, guttering and paving Park Place from the west line
of Oakdale Avenue to the east line of Oakdale eve in the City of
Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final acb ption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:

on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of axing unpaved portion of Santa Fe Jtvenue from the north
line of incoln Avenue to the south IlRe o ars treet in the
City of Salina, Kansas, and relating It to and providing for the collect-
ion and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3907.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of paving unpaved portion of Santa Fe Avenue from the north
line of Harsh Street to the south ine of Otis Avenue in the City
of Salina, Kansas, and. relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments."
On notion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3908.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: t'tn
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of paving 'third Street from the south line of Iron Avenue south
to the Smoky___-_T7Pr in ___e City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to
and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments
on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the
cost of curbing, guttering and paving Wash_.in_ tion Avenue from the
west line of Tenth Street to the east line of Eleven -M -Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collect-
ion and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (21
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3910.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Woodland Avenue
from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of SeVin-th
Street, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor." ----
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the sane and is numbered
3911.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance fixing the salary of the Superintendent of the Waterworks
Department of the City of Salina, and repealing all ordinances or
parts of ordinances in conflict herewith."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Dodds absent. IdIayor approved the same and is num-
bered 3912.
I An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer
district in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral Sewer District
No. 147, providing for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer
in such district and for the cost thereof, and for the levying of
special assessments against the property in such district for the
payment of such cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. mayor approved the same and is

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to the condemnation of an easement over, along
and in certain private property for the purpose of constructing therein
sanitary sewers and water lines; designating a benefit district and
providing for the appointment of commissioners to make an appraisement
and to assess damages and benefits on account of such condemnation."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent* mayor approved the same and
is numbered 3914.
An 6rd.inance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3188, being an ordinance dividing
the City of Salina into zones or districts and regulating and restrict-
ing the location of trades and industries, etc., and the uses of lands
in each of such districts or zones, and defining an additional
Commercial District or Zone."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final acb ption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Dodds absent. I''liayor approved the same and is
numbered 3915.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance fixing and providing for a license tax upon a certain
occupation or business, and providing for the issuance of licenses
therefor, and providing a penalty for the violation of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and
the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Dodds absemt. Mayor approved the same and is nun-
bered 3916.
Trust Deed was received from P. A. Tobin, Executor of Henry
Blatherwick, Estate, with a deposit of $93.75.
Commissioner Stevenson moved that same be adopted and filed,
and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the
Gypsum Hill Cemetery Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number
3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
