05-12-1930 Minutes1 1 1 1 C COD51ISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. MAY 12, 1930. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 12, 1930. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and tevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. The Minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 5, 1930 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a certain portion of Chester Avenue in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3884. A petition was presented asking for the vacating of Woodlawn Avenue between Ninth Street and Highland Avenue from Claflin Avenue to Cloud Street. Seme was ordered filed. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating a certain portion of Woodlawn Avenue in the i City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. 6 A petition was presented asking for the installation, of a street light at the corner of Lincoln 'venue and Twelfth treet. Same was referred to the City Manager. The appraisers reports for the excavating; curbing, guttering and paving of: Chicago Street from Ash Street to State Street; Columbia Avenue from Ash Street to Iron Avenue; Ellsworth Avenue from highland Avenue to Ninth Street; Gypsum Avenue from Ohio Street to Columbia Avenuel Highland Avenue from Clafla.n Avenue to Cloud Street; Park Place from Oakdale Avenue to Oakdale Drive; Washington Avenue from Tenth Street to Eleventh Street; Seventh Street from Elm Street to North Street;, wont Street from Pine Street to jforth street; y Excavating and paving of: Center Street from Fifth Street to Kenwood Park entrance; Prescott Avenue from Eleventh Street to Twelfth Street; Santa Fe "venue (center of) from Lincoln Avenue to Otis I Third Street from pon Avenue south. to Smoky Hill. River, Lateral Sanitary .ewers No. 153 and 157, were received, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson, Monday May 19, 1930 at 4:00 P. M. was designated as a Special Meeting at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners, and that the City Clerk be instructed to publish notice in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted. Mayor Helvering appointed F. L. Reynolds and R. J. Pafford as members of the City Planning Commission for a term of three years from May 1st, 1930y and on motion of Commissioner Dodds appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commission- ers adjourned.
