MARCH 3rd, 1930.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, March 3rd,
1930. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was
called and Commissioners nelvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City
Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 24, 1930, were
read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropraitions for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the followinvote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3840.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3841.
j City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 3 to H. J. Taylor
Construction Company, for repair of Ash Street sewer, under contract
dated December 9, 1929, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same

was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3842.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing that certain platted and unplatted tracts of
land which adjoin the present limits of the City of Salina, Kansas,
be added to, taken into and rade parts of the City of Salina; extend-
ing the limits of said city to include said added land; defining the
corporate limits of said city as extended; and repealin§ all ordinances
or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3843.

Remonstrances were received against the paving of:
Clark Street from Walnut to Spruce,

Walnut Street from Clark to Missouri Pacific Tracks
Chicago Street from �4alnut to State,
Frost Street from Ninth to Sherman,
Chicago Street from Ash to State,
Prescott Avenue from Fourth to Second.
Same were referred to the City Attorney.
A petition was presented asking for the extension of water
mains on Montrose Avenue from Morrison Avenue to harles Street.
Same was referred to the City Manager.
A petition was presented asking for the removal of horses that
are now located in Oakdale Park. Same was referred to the City
Manager.
City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids for the
construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers No. 153 and 157, bids to be
received up to and including March 17, 1930 at 4:00 P. M.

"A resolution relating to the paving of Third Street from the
south line of Iron Avenue south to the Smo yIver."
fOn motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the
1 Board of Commissioners.
Trust Deed was received from L. Hendershott, with a deposit
of $75.00.
Commissioner Dodds moved that same be accepted and filed, and
that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the
Gyps= Hill Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance
Number 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
Application for taxicab license for the year 1.930 was
received from:
