01-13-1930 Minutes190 COM1,TISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR hFETING. Commissioners room, Salina, Kansas. January 13th, 1930. Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 13th, 1930. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor ]odds the roll was called and Commissioners Dodds and Stevenson anA City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 6th, 1930 were read and approved as read. Application for taxicab 13cense for the year 1930 was received from W. C. Riggs, and on motion of Commissioner tevenson same was granted. Trust Deed was received from Mrs. M. A. Hudkins with a deposit of $100.00. Commissioner Stevenson moved that same be accepted and filed, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number 3530 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted. Pool Hall applications for the first half of 1930 were received from: i Lamer Hotel Company, C. M. Allen, John S. Gordon, Loren 0. Wilhelm, (White Way Smoker) Frank 0. Bean, (The Club) J. E. Wilhelm, (The Rex Smoker) Geo. Holzmeister W. A. Wilhelm, (The Smoker) Commissioner Stevenson.moved that license be granted sub- -- ject to the approval of the �4elfare Board and the filing of bonds. i The time provided by Ordinance Number 3820 for City Engineer to file survey and description of land and easements to be taken for the purposes provided for in said ordinance, extended on motion of Commissioner Dodds to January 20, 1930. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the repair and reconstruction of a certain sewer in Ash Street be- tween Des Moines Avenue and the Smoky Hill River, and providing for the issuance of bonds to pay the cost thereof, and for the issuance of temporary notes to pay such cost pending the issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On r- otion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commis- sioners adjourned. City Clerk. i i
