COM'1.1ISS IONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
Commissioners Room,
Salina, Kansas.
January 6th, 1930.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, January
6th, 1930. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 30th, 1929
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and
Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3823.
City Engineer submitted final estimate for Storm Sewers Number
9 and 10, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was approved by
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3824.
City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 1, to H. J. Taylor
Construction Company, for the construction of fish "treet sewer,
under contract awarded December 9th, 1929, and on motion of Commis-
sioner Dodds same was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
I and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, 6tevenson
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3825.
Application for taxicab license was received from Mrs. W. B.
Mckickle (Deluxe Cab Company), and on notion of Commissioner Dodds
license was granted.
Mayor Helvering appointed Chas. E. Banker and M. C. Stevenson
as Directors of the Gyps= Hill Cemetery Board for a term of three
years from January lst, 1930, and on motion of Commissioner Steven-
son appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Helvering appointed Roy F. Bailey as a member of the
Waterworks Advisory Board for a term of three years from January
lst, 1930p and on motion of Commissioner Dodds appointment was con-
firmed by the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Helvering appointed Clifford J. Gross as a member of
the Board of Band Trustees, for a term of, three years from January
lst, 1930, and on motion of Commissioner 6tevenson appointment was
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. j
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
