Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, December
! 9th, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
j roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 2nd, 1929
were read and approved as read.
Bids were received from H. J. Taylor Construction Company
and L. W. Rexroad, for the construction of a 36" sanitary sewer
in Ash street from Riverside Drive to a point approximately 40
feet west of the west line of Ohio Street.
City Engineerts estimate for the above named work was
read.
Commissioner Dodds moved that contract for the construction
of a 36" sewer in Ash Street from Riverside Drive to a point
approximately 40 feet west of the west line of Ohio Qtreet be
awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, and that certified
check be returned to L. W. Rexroad. Motion carried.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving Ellsworth Avenue from the west side of Highland
Avenue to the east side of Ninth Street. Same was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the extension of the
Center Street paving to the Kenwood Park entrance. Same was
ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing guttering
and paving of Highland Avenue from Claflin street to bloud Street.
Same was ordered filed.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:
"An ordinance amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 3809 relating
i to the vacation of certain alleys in Block 5 and Block 10, Depot
I Addition, Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the Board of Commissioners
j adjourned.
City Clerk.
City Clerk reported receipt from Public service Commission
of Certificate of Approval of Smoky Hill River Flood Control
project, under Resolution No. 466, and of Dry Creek Flood Control
Project under rtesolution No. 477. Same ordered filed.
