COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.

COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS,
OCTOBER 14th, 1929.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October 14th,
1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll
was called and Commissioners Helvering and Stevenson and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Dodds absent.

The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 7th, 1929
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
i appropriations for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was call-
ed and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stevenson
i (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved the
I same and is numbered 3798.
Surety Bond in the amount of $6,000.00 for three sewage
pumps at Sewage Pumping Station located on East Ash •street was
received, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was approved
i by the Hoard of Commissioners.

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance appro-
priating $6,000.00 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company out of the
Sewage Disposal Fund in the City Treasury."
0 On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stev-
enson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3799.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and regulating the erection and construc-
tion of signs hanging over or across streets and public thorough-
fares in the City of Salina, amending section 4 of Ordinance No.
! 3021 being bection 5-604 of Revised Ordinances 1925, and repealing
such original section."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
i and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
j called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Stev-
enson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3800.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled:

"An ordinance relating to and regulating the business of buying,
selling, storing and collecting and otherwise dealing in junk as

herein defined, classifying junk dealers, providing for and requir-
ing licenses therefor, providing penalties for the violation of this
ordinance and repealing Ordinance No. 2071 relating to junk deal-
ers."

On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.

Application for two taxicabs and taxicab liability policy
were received from Mrs. W. B. McMickle, owner of DeLuxe Cab Com-
om-pang.Commissioner

CommissionerStevenson moved that Liability Policy be ap-
proved by the Board of Commissioners, and that license be granted
to lugs. W. B. McMickle for two taxicabs. Motion carried.

A request was received from National Drug Company asking for
a parking permit for Deluxe Cab Company, on the north side of
National Drug Company located on the corner of oanta Ve Avenue
and Ash Street. Pettission granted.

Statutory Bond was received from Mausoleum Builders Corpo-
ration of ryichita, Kansas, for the construction of a mausoleum in
i
the Gypsum Hill Cemetery of jalina, Kansas*
