09-26-1929 Minutes1 u 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 26th, 1929. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 26th, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 23rd, 1929 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 3778 passed September 3rd, 1929, authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $89,479.15 to pay the cost of improving certain streets and alleys in said City.' On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The sale of $89,479.15 of 4� Street Improvement Bonds, $20,978.17 of 42o Sewer Repair Bonds, and $140,000.00 more or less of 4-3/4% Storm sewer Bonds, which were placed on sale September 23rd, 1929, and for which all offers of purchase made on that date were rejected, was reported to the Board of Commissioners, said sale having been made on September 24, 1929, to the Brown Crummer Company of Wichita, for par and accrued interest to'date of delivery of the bonds, together with a contract with said company for the payment by them of all expense of printing said bonds and securing the legal approval by bond attorneys of all proceedings, and for the payment to'them by the City of $3,000.00 on said 421 bonds, and $3500.00 on said 4-3/4% bonds, to reimburse them for the cost of such printing and legal expense. Commissioner Dodds moved that said sale, and said contract dated September 24th, signed on behalf of the Board of Commis- sioners by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, be ratified, approved and confirmed. Said motion was duly seconded by Commissioner otevenson, and on roll call was duly carried. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson, the Board of Commis- sioners adjourned until beptember 27th, 1929.
