09-23-1929 Minutes161 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 23rd, 1929. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, September 23rd, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering,.the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. ! The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 16th, 1929 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." i On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stev- i enson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3784. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing that a certain unplatted tract of land, which adjoins the present limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, i be added to, taken into and made a part of the City of Salina; extending the limits of said city so as to include said added land; defining the corporate limits of said city as extended, and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance." i On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 3785. Bonds were placed on sale pursuant to notice,and offers were invited from those present. The following deposited with the City Clerk certified check to qualify themselves as bidders: Commerc e Trust Company & Stern Bros., Prescott, Viright & Snider, & The Fidelity National Co., Branch Middlekauff & Company, Central Trust Company, Shawnee Investment Company, The Columbia Title & Trust Co., The Guarantee Title & Trust Company The highest offer for said bonds was received from Prescott, Wright & Snider and the Fidelity National Company, who offered $97.02 per hundred. All other offers were rejected and the certified checks of all other bidders were returned to them. The offer of Prescott, Wright & Snider and The Fidelity National Company was taken into consideration. After due considera- tion, Commissioner Dodds moved that such offer be rejected, and that the certified check of such bidders be returned, and that _- such bonds remain on sale. The motion was duly seconded and on roll call the motion was carried. On motion of Commissioner Dodds the Board of Commissioners adjourned until Thursday, September 26th, 1929 at 5:00 P. M.
