07-29-1929 Minutes1 1 1 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 29th, 1929. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 29th, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Otevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 22nd, 1929, were read and approved as read. Commissioner Dodds moved that Mayor be authorized to sign contract entered into between the City of balina, Kansas and The browerts Air `'ervice Corporation. Motion carried. Cormnissioner Stevenson moved that the Lamer Sub -Division as presented be approved. Motion carried. Commissioner Stevenson moved that the Building Inspector be authorized to issue a building permit to J. P. Quinn for build- ing to be constructed on West walnut Street, as applied for. Street Excavation Bond, under Ordinance No. 3644 was present- ed from H. A. Bachofer, doing business as Midwest Plumbing Company, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for repair and reconstruction of Ash Street Sewer." . On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance vacating the alley between Iron Avenue and Johnstown Avenue from Penn Avenue to Columbia Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners* An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and regulating the traffic and the parking of certain vehicles on certain streets in the City of Salina.11 On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. M. R. Amerman appeared before the Board of Commissioners j and requested extension to August 31st, 1929 for time of comple- tion of contract of rune 10th, 1929, which job his surety, t e Federal Surety Company of Davenport, Iowa, had been notified to take over and complete. Commissioner Dodds moved that extension be not granted, but Amerman be permitted to go on with contract, subject to con- sent of Bonding Company, subject to all provisions of contract.
