07-22-1929 MinutesX46 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM SALINA, KANSAS. JULY 22nd, 1929. _ I Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 22nd, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll j was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 15th, 1929, j were read and approved as read. Commissioner Dodds moved that a special permit be granted to M. J. Berry for curb pumps on the south side of North Street, west of Thirteenth Otreet, subject to the approval of the -City j Engineer and subject to revocation by the Board of Commissioners as provided by ordinance. Motion carried. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to and providing for the protection of the City of Salina and of the public and private property therein from floods and damage by the overflow of Dry Creek.' On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final .adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 477. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 125 i and 126 of Resolution Book Number 2. A petition was presented asking for the construction of a sidewalk on the west side of Ohio Avenue from Gypsum Avenue j south to the City limits. Referred to City Engineer. Motion was made and carried that water main be laid on Franklin Street from Ninth Street to Sheridan Street, and on Custer -)treet from Crawford Avenue to Franklin Street, City Engineer reported that M. R. Amerman had not com- menced work under contract dated June 10th, 1929. Commissioner Dodds moved that the City Attorney be in- structed to notify Bonding Company and M. R. Amerman that Bonding Company be required to take over and complete contract, or that City would take over the same or let new contract. -''iotion carried.
