COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
JULY 15th, 1929.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 15th,
1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was
called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City
Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 8th, 1929 and
Regular Meeting of July 12th were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering Stevenson and
Dodds (3) Nags: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3742.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina
to pay the cost of paving the alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue
and Seventh Street from the noxi ane of Mulberry `'treet, north to
a point 225 feet south of the south line of Walnut Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the col-
lection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering Dodds and
Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3743.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina
to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Connecticut Avenue
from the south line of Iron Avenue to the north 1 ne of 9tapler
Avenue in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing
for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nags: (0) Mayor approvedthe same and is numbered 3744.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Eleventh 6treet
from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of Yrost
Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing
for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3745.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled.: "An
ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess-
ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina,
to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Eleventh Street
from the north line of Ash Street to the south line of ParkStreet
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for
the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven-
son (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3746.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering,and paving Fifth
Street from the north line of h1m. Street to the south line of
oar F treet in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments. 11
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds
and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3747.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Gypsum
Avenue from the east line of Ohio Street to the north line o
�eaware Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and
providing for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and
Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) i4a7or approved the same and is numbered
3748.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Oakdale
Drive from the south line of Walnut Street, south to en r� ance of andale Park in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to
and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds
and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 3749.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving Oakdale
Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to Kenwood Park
br33ge in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and provid-
ing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and
Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3750.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and I-evying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Philli s Street
from the south line of Washington Avenue to the north line of`r-`
Prescott venue in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and
providing -for the collection and payment of such assessments.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds
and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3751.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of paving Republic Avenue from the east
line of Fifth Street to the east line ohrd Utreet in the City
of "alina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection
and payment of such assessments.It

On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and
Ste venson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3752.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing, guttering and paving 'Tenth Street
from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of Bishop reed
in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for
the collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds
and Ste venson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 3753.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special
assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of
Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Wilson Street from
the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Seitz Street in
the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the
collection and payment of such assessments."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and
Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the same and is numbered
3754.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending Section one of Ordinance No. 3482, as amended
by Ordinance No. 3491, as amended by Ordinance No. 3638, relating
to the location of gasoline filling of certain stations in the
City of Salina, and repealing said original Section as amended."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to and providing for the protection of the
City of Salina and of the public and private property therein from
floods and damage by the overflow of Dry Creek."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the location of a sidewalk
on the west side of Sheridan Street from Venango Street to Wilson
Street. Same was referred to the Uity Manager.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
