Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners, July 8th, 1929.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering,,the roll was called
j and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and btevenson and City Attorney
Norris responded.
j Meeting was held for the purpose of hearing any complaints
a that might be made by property owners as to the valuation placed
i on certain.lots and pieces of ground in the City of balina, Kansas,
on which to base the cost of paving:
i Republic Avenue from Fifth Street to Third Street;
Alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh street, from
Mulberry�reet north to a point 225 feet south of south line of
yOalnut 6treet.
For the curbing, guttering and paving:
Fifth Street from Elm Street to North Street;
Eleventh Jtreet from Crawford Avenue to Frost Street;
Eleventh 6treet from Ash Street to Park 6treet;
Oakdale Drive from Walnut Street to Oakdale Park entrance;
Gypsum Avenue _ from Ohio Avenue to Delaware Avenue;
Connecticut Avenue from Iron Avenue to Stapler Avenue;
Tenth Street from Elm Street to Bishop btreet;
For the curbing and guttering of:
Wilson Street from Ninth Street to Seitz Street;
Phillips street from Washington Avenue to Prescott Avenue.
The appraisers report for the paving of alley lying between
Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street, from Mulberry ,treet north to a
point 225 feet south of south line of Walnut Street was taken up and
read as follows:

We, John Frederick, Ralph A. Smith and E. D. Martin being
duly and severally sworn according to law, each for himself, does
hereby solemnly swear that he is disinterested in any of the property
j liable to special assessment for the cost of paving alley lying between
Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh Street from the north line of Mulberry
Street to a point 225 feet south of the south line of Walnut Street,
as more particularly described and provided for in Ordinance Number
3695 of the City of Salina, Kansas; and that each of us. will to the
best of our judgment and ability make a true and impartial appraise -
went of all the lots and pieces of ground abutting on such respective
street as above described, without regard_to the buildings or improve-
ments thereon, for the distance to be improved as set forth and desig-
nated by the Board of Commissioners in the ordinance above mentioned.

Commissioner Stevenson moved that the appraisers report for
the paving of alley lying between Santa Fe Avenue and Seventh
Otreet from the north line of Mulberry Jtreet to a point 225 feet
south of the south line of Walnut Street be adopted as read. Motion
carried.
The appraisers report for the curbing, guttering and paving
of Connecticut Avenue from Iron Avenue to Stapler Avenue was taken
up and read as follows:
