Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, June.l.7th, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Acting mayor Dodds, the roll was called and Commissioners Dodds j and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner { j Helverin.g absent. The minutes of the_ Regular Meeting of June 10th, 1929, were i read and approved as read. ! i An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellane.aus.purposes." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called fand the following.vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3725. I A resolution waa introduced.for second reading entitled: i "A resolution.relating to and requiring the cutting _of weeds and !i obnoxious.vegetable growth.in the.City.of Salina." I On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the resolution was adopt- ed as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had.; Ayes: Stevenson and Dodds_(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering..absent. Acting.Mayor approved the same and is numbered 476. An.ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning.and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to 9 pay the cost of curbing., guttering and paving Highland Avenue from the south line of Beloit. Avenue to the north line of Claflin Avenue i in.the City of Salina,.Kansas,.and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." I On motion of Commissloner.Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. j An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning_ and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina to pay the cost of curbing and guttering Second Street from the north line of Elm Street to the.south..Une of_ orEE Itre-e-f in the City of j Jalina, Kansas, and relating_to and providing for the collection �I and payment of such. assessments ." On motion of Commissioner. Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Cormni.ssioners. C i An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salim to pay the cost of paniig; Wa_s�hi�n ton Avenue from the west line of Elev- enth Street to the west line of`Twelft -Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment i of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Jtevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. FRFMJ FEIM _ t _ An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An I ordinance amending_ Section 2 of Ordinance No. 2993, being bection 5-202, Revised Ordinances 1.92.5 relating to the construction of buildings and the issuing of permits therefor, and repealing said original section." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson (2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor ap- proved the same and is numbered 3726. Contract, Maintenance bond and Statutory Bond were received from H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the curbing, guttering and paving certain streets, under contract awarded June 10th, 1929s and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same were approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. i ! Contract, Maintenance bond and Statutory Bond were received from L. W. Rexroad, for the curbing, guttering and.paving certain streets, under contract awarded June 10th, 1929, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was approved by the board of Commission- erso motion adopted. A communication was received asking for the cancellation of Taxicab Policy written for Roy E. Fowler, and on motion same was granted. j Commissioner Stevenson moved that the recommendation of the Waterworks Advisory Board for an.additional well be approved. i !
