06-03-1929 Minutes1.10 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. JUNE 3rd, 1929. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, June 3rd, 1929. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 27th, 1929 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven- son (3) Nays: 0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3719. City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 2, for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and paving under contract awarded to L. W. Rexroad, March 11th, 1929., and on motion of Commissioner Stev- enson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven- son (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3720. City Engineer submitted Estimate Number 2 for the construction of storm hewer Number 11, under contract awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, March 11th, 1929, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the followin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Steven- son (3) Nays: 0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3721. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate for the construction of Storm Sewer Number 15, under contract awarded to Salina Plumbing Com- pany May 13th, 1929, and on motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was adopted by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final a doptioh the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering. Stevenson and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3722. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of certain sidewalks along certain streets in the City of Salina." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Dodds and Stevenson (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approvdd the same and is numbered 3723. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance Number 2993 being Section 5-202 Revised Ordinances 1925 relating to the construction of build- ings and the issuing of permits therefor, and repealing said original section." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. I I J An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance providing for the construction of a certain Storm I I Sewer in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewer Number 12, and providing for the issuing of improvement bonds to pay the I cost thereof, and repealing Sections 2 and 4 of Ordinance Number 3672 relating to the construction of certain storm sewers." On motion of Cormissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending Sections 2, 3 and 4 of Ordinance Number 1498 of the City of Salina, being an ordinance relating to the Firemen's Relief Association and to the Firemen's Relief Fund, also known as Sections 12-102, 12-103 and 12-104 of Revised Ordinances 1925, and repealing Section 5 of said Ordinance Number 1498." On motion of Commissioner Stevenson same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Dodds moved that the Auditors Report for the year 1928 be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion carried . City Engineer submitted plans, specifications and estimate of cost for the construction of Storm sewer Number 16, and on mo- tion of Commissioner Stevenson same were adopted by the Board of Commissioners, and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including Monday, June 10th, 1929 at 12:00 noon, Motion adopted.
