COMMISSI OVERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 27th, 1929.
Regular meeting of the .board of Commissioners, May 27th, 1929.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called
and Commissioners Helvering and -tevenson and City Attorney Norris
responded. Commissioner Dodds absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of "lay 20th, 1929; and
Ilegular 1eeting of "-ay 24th, 1929, were read and. approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for and requiring the construction of certain
sidewalks along certain streets in the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner otevenson same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner ote venson moved that the plans and specifications
for the curbing, guttering and paving of certain streets, also for
the construction of part of otorm -ewes Number Twelve ., filed
by the City Engireer, Tray 24th, 1929 be adopted by the Board of Com-
missioners, and that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for
bids for such work, bids to be received up to and including Monday,
June 10th, 1929 at 12:00 noon. Motion adopted.
Mayor Helvering appointed Jahn Frederick, nalphA. Smith and.
E. D. Martin to act as appraisers to ascertain the valuation of
certain lots and. pieces of ground liable to taxation for the cost of
curbing; and guttering:
Phillips Street from Washington to Prescott;
Wilson c)treet from Ninth -Dtreet to 0eitz Street;
for the curbing, guttering and paving:
Eleventh )treet from Crawford. Avenue to Frost otreet;
Eleventh otreet from Ash btreet to Park otreet;
Oakdale Drive from Walnut 6treet to Oakdale Park entrance;
Connecticut Avenue from Iron Avenue to Stapler;
Tenth Strect from Elm Street to Bishop 6treet;
Gypsum Avenue from Ohio Avenue to Delaware Street;
Fifth 6treet fromElm Street to North Otreet;
Columbia Avenue from Johnstown Avenue to Ash street;
for the paving of:
Alley lying between Banta Fe Avenue knd Seventh Otreet from
Mulberry Otreet, north to a point 225 feet south of south
line of Vialnut otreet;
Republic Avenue from Fifth otreet to Third otreet.
On motion of Commissioner otevenson the appointments were
confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced. for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer in
the City of Salina to be designated as otorm Oewer Number 16, and
providing for the issuing of improvement bonds to pay the cost there-
of ."
On motion of Commissioner otevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and otevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Dodds absent. The Ttiayor approved the same
and is numbered 3718.
On motion of Commissioner Utevenson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
