COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING.
CO 1,1ISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
MAY 20th, 1929.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners.. May 20th,
1929. Meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Dodds, the roll
was called and Commissioners Dodds and Otevenson and City Attorney
Norris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 13th, 1929,and
Regular Meeting of May 13th, 1929,were read and approved as read.
Fred G. Bell_ appeared before the Board of Commissioners and
asked that sidewalk on the west side of Front Street south of Walnut
Otreet be raised; and presented a petition asking for the curbing and
guttering of Front Otreet from Walnut Street to Mulberry Street.
Same was ordered filed.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson and Dodds
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 3710.
An ordinance was introduced for second readingentitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of Con-
necticut Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the norEh dine
of Stapler Avenue, and providing for the cost thereof how the same
shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.

On motion of Commissioner otevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was
called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 3711.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of Eleventh
Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north line of
rF ost`atreet, and providing for the cost thereof how the same shall
be assessed and the manner of payment therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor
approved the same and is numbered 3712.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Ellsworth Avenue from the west line of NinthStreet to the east line
o H gh and Circle, and providing for the cost thereof, how the
same shall be assessee and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of CommissionerStevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson
(2) Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor ap-
proved the same and is numbered 3713.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of the south
side of Jewell Avenue from the west line of Ninth 6treet, west
one block �poin opposite the intersection of the east line
of Highland Circle with Jewell Avenue, and for the graveling of
said Jewell Avenue between such limits, and providing for the cost
thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment
therefor.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes Dodds and Stevenson (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3714.

"An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of
Oakdale Drive from the south line of Walnut Street south to entrance

On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final a dbption the roll was called
I and the following vote was had; Ayes: Dodds and Stevenson (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 3715. i
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Phillips Street
from the south line of Washington Avenue to the north -line of Prescott
Avenue, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be
assessed and the manner of payment therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the ordinance was read and I
adopted by sections and on its final a doption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson and Dodds (2) Nays:
(0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same
and is numbered 3716.
A resolution was introduced relating to the maintenance and
operation of a 12 inch water pipe line crossing underneath the tracks
of the Union Pacific Railroad Company in Fifth Street, in Salina,
Kansas.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the resolution was adopted
as read, and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol-
lowing vote was had; Ayes: Stevenson and Dodds (2) Nays: (0)
Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 475.
The above resolution is recorded infull on Page 123 of Resolution
Book Number 2.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the construction
of Storm Sewer No. 15 in the City of Salina, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the
issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner btevenson same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Stevenson the Board of Commissioners
adjourned. j
