COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

MARCH 4th, 1929.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, 1, -,arch 4th,
1929. Meeting was called to order by Acting TVIayor Campbell, the
roll was called and Commissioners Campbell and Dodds and City Attor-
ney Dorris responded. Commissioner Helvering absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 25th, 1929
and Regular Meeting of March lst, 1929 were read and approved as
reed.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance m2',ing
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance Aas read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell. and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Com.,;issioner Helvering absent. Acting IVlayor approved
the same and is numbered 3675.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance repealing ordinances Numbered 3656, 3659 and. 3665 of
the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3676.
An ordinance was introduced for second. reading entitled: "An
ordinance creating and re -opening certain alleys and parts of alleys
in the City of Salina, heretofore vacated by Ordinance Ntur_ber 2323,
and vacating the proposed new alley referred to in said Ordinance
Number 2323, and. repealing Ordinance No. 2323."
On motion of Co.rurLiss inner Dodds the ordina.nce was read and
adopted by sections and. on its final adopt__on the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Byes: Campbell. and Dodds (2)
TTays: (0) Commissioner Helvering absent. Acting Mayor Campbell
approved. the same and is ntur_bered. 3677.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading; entitled: "An
ordinance granting Union Pacific Railroad Company, its successors
and assigns the ri�;h_t to extend, reconstruct and re -locate a certain
switch track or spur, now located in Fouj�th Street between Iron Av-
enue and W'alnut Street."
On motion of Corrunission.er Dodds same was .referred to the
Board of Coirrlis s ion_ers .
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution .relating to a.nd providing for the repaving, recurbing and
reguttering of Santa Fe Avenue in the City of Salina from the south
line of 1,%alnut Street to the south line of the riEh.t-of-way of the
main line of the Union Pacific Railroad."
On notion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating
to and requsting the assistance of the State Highway Coman.issicn in
the repairing of Santa Fe Avenue in Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted as
read and or. its final adoption the roll was called and the follow-
ing vote was had; Ayes: Campbell and Dodds (2) Trays: (0) Com-
missicner Helvering absent. Acting Ma7cr approved the same and.is
numbered 462.
The above resolution is recorded in full. on Page 107 of Resolu-
tion Book Yi nber 2.

Street Excavation Bonds under Ordinance No. 3644 were re-
ceived from:
United Telephone Company,

On m otion of Commissioner Dodds same tiiere approved by the Board
f j of _Commis sioners .
A petition ores presented asking for the curbing, guttering
and paving of 'Milson Street from the west line of TTinth Street to
the east line of Seitz Street. Same was ordered filed.

A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution relating to the curbing, guttering, grading and paving
of Wilson Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the east
line o e z o reet ."

On motion of Commiss—loner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Taxicab Liability Policy was received from Blue Cab Company,
covering nine taxicabs, and on motion of Corunissioner Dodds same
was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
The following recomraend.ations were received from the Airport
Advisory Committee:
First: Recommend that no charge be made for rental on
space for e angars during the present calendar year.
Second: Recommend that the Rearwin Airport Company be granted
a site for factory and hangar free of rental.
Third: Reconn,.end 'that aircone be purchased at once.
Fourth: Recommend that rental of u25.00 per month be charged
commercial flyers, having no hangar on the field. The same charge
to be made for any individual or company.
Commercial flyers using the municipal airport carrying
passengers for hire 110.00 per day minimum - fot two passenger plane
.5.00 per day additional for each additional passenger.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same were approved by the
Board of Commissioners.
Bids on fire hose were received as follows:
Bi -Lateral Fire Mose Company,
nmerican Rubber Mfg. Company,
Goodrich Rubber Company,
Lee Hardware Company,
Eureka Fire hose Company.
Commissioner Dodds moved that action on same be deferred.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
