Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners February
18th2 1929. ryTeeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds
and City Attorney Norris repsonded.
The minutes of the -Regular Meeting of February 4th, 1929
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced. entitled: "An ordinance ma.kinm7
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Conmissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: fielvering, Campbell and
Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The lblayor approved the same and. is numbered
3668.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num-
bered 3669.
A Resolution was introduced relating to aid rendered by
the Salvation Army to the Salina Fire Department during the Sears -
Roebuck fire of Sunday night, February 10th, 1929." i
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted
as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the fol- ---
lowin vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3)
Nays 0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 460.
The above resolution is recorded in full. on Page 105 of
Resolution Book Number 2.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance amending bection 5-203 of Revised Ordinances 1925 as
amended by Section 1 of Ordinance Nu~nber 3643, relating to the con-
struction of buildings within the City of Salina, and repealing said
original sections."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell_ same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An

ordinance amending Section 4 of Ordinance Number 3623 relating to
the construction of buildings in the City of Salina, and repealing
said original section."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Applications for permission to operate taxicabs in the City ,
of oalina were received from: i
G. E. Ellis
M. R. Guthrie.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds license was granted to the
above named. parties to operate a taxicab.
Taxicab liability policy was received from G. E. Ellis and
on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was approved by the Board of -
Commissioners.
Trust Deed was received from T. L. Bond and R. D. Garver, with
a deposit of (;100.00 in cash.
Commissioner Campbell moved that same be accepted and filed,
and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the
Gypsum Hill Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number
3530 of the City of b alina. Motion. adopted.

A petition was presented asking for the curbing, -uttering and
paving of Gypsum Avenue from Ohio .venue to Delaware Street. Name
was ordered filed.
A petition was presented asking for the paving of Eleventh
Street from Ash Street to Park Street. Same was ordered filed.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution providing for the curbing, guttering, grading and paving
of Gypsum Avenue from the east line of Ohio otreet to the west line
of5Ta~ware S'�ree£."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A petition was presented asking for the construction of a side
walk on the east side of Eleventh Street from Crawford Avenue south
to connect with walk, already constructed. Same was referred to the
City Engineer.
City Engineer submitted general Standard Specifications for
paving and sewer work for the year 1929, and on motion of Commission-
er Campbell same were adopted by the Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications and estimate
of cost for the:
Curbing and guttering of Second Street from tha north line
of Elm Street to the south line o-N'ori Street;
Curbing, guttering and paving Highland Avenue from the south
line of Beloit Avenue to the north line of Claflin Avenue;
Paving Hepublic Avenue from the east line of Fifth Street to
the east line off`-THir Street;
Curbing, guttering and paving Oakdale Avenue from the south
line of Gypstam Avenue to Kenwood bridge; aET'�
Paving Vashington Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street
to the west line o wef£i--Ztreet.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were adopted and ap-
proved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instruct-
ed to advertise for bids for the above named improvements to be re-
ceived up to and including Monday, March 11th, 1929 at 4:00 P. M.
Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm seviers in
the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 11 and 12,
and providing for the issuing of Improvement Bonds to pay the cost
thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
Onzrotion of Commissioner Campbell the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
