Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The mir.iates of the Regular Meeting of January 14th, 1929 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous purposes." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3661. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments or_ certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas to pay the cost of constructing Main Sanitary Sewers "P" and "Qt' and, relating to and providing fore -co _ec on an pay - Ten o�such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of. Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assess- ments on certain lots and pieces of grourd in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers in Lateral Sewer Districts Nos. 143, 146, 148, 150, 152 and 155, and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments." On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the curbing, guttering andpaving of -Colum- bia Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south 1.ne of Ash Street, and providing for the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment therefor." On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Taxicab applications were received from: Carl 0. Nelson Lewis F. Colvin W. C. Riggs. On motion of Comriissioner Campbell license was granted to the above named persons to operate taxicabs in the City of Salina. Taxicab liability policy was received from Carl 0. Nelson, and on motion of Commissioner Dodds same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Application was received from J. A. Donmyer for the construc- tion of a tourist camp on East Pacific street, and on motion same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. A request was presented from the Evergreen Nurseries asking for the re -planting of certain ground on fast Iron Avenue, and on motion of Commissioner Campbell same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Campbell moved that Airport Committee be creat- ed composed of Ralph Lindblom, R. C. Carlisle, VJayne Dodge, Ed. Mor- genstern and the City Mianager. .
