Regular meeting of the Board of Commissionars, November
26th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering., the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering and Dodds and City
Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Campbell absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 19th, 1928
were road and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final a cb ption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvaring and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3621.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract for the building
and construction of a certain main sanitary sewer in'Main Sewer
District "(�" and for the construction of certain lateral sanitary
sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 152 and 155 and provid-
ing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof
pending issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helve.ring and Dodds (2 )
Nays (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3622.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance relating to the construction of buildings in the
City of Salina and amending certain sections of Ordinance No.
2993 and repealing such original sections."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final a cdption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3623.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance prohibiting the storage of certain explosives in the
City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3624.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing for the inpsection of buildings and premis-
es by the Fire Department, regulating certain hazards to safe-
guard the public and property against fire, and providing penalties
for the violation thereof, and repealing certain ordinances or
parts of ordinances of the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following, vote turas had; Ayes: He lva ring and Dodds (2 )
Nays: (0) The n`iayor approved the same and is numbered 3625.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance regulating the construction of chimneys, flues Rnd
fireplaces and providing penalties for the violation thereof.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was road and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved the
same and is numbered 3626.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled:
"An ordinance providing that certain platted and unplatted tracts
:)f land, which adjoin the present limits of the City of Salina,
Kansas be added to and taken into and made a part of the City
Df Jalina; extending the limits of said city so as to include sal
added land; defining the corporate limits of said City as extende
and repealing all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict w
the provisions of this ordinance."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering and Dodds (2)
Nays: (0) Commissioner Campbell absent. The Mayor approved
the same and is numbered 3627*
The matter of paying for lights for Christmas decorations
on certain streets in the City of Salina was discussed by the
Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Dodds moved that the City pay for said
lights not to exceed 125.00. Motion carried.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, the Board of Commission-
ers adjourned.
