OCTOB3R 8th, 1928.
Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October
8th, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the
roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds
and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 1st, 1928
were read and approved as read.
Bids for $71,804.82 Internal Improvement Bonds, as ad-
vertised for were received from:
Commerce Trust Company, Kansas City, Missouri.
Central Trust Company, Topeka, Kansas.
Reserve State Bank, Salina, Kansas.
Stern Bros. &Company, Kansas City, Missouri.
United Trust Company, Abilene, Kansas.
Shawnee Investment Company, Topeka, Kansas.
Guarantee Trust Company, Wichita, Kansas.
Fidelity National Company, Kansas City, Missouri.
Planters State Bank, Salina, Kansas.
Commissioner Dodds moved that the bid of Central Trust
Company be accepted and that the certified checks be returned
by the City Clerk to the unsuccessful bidders. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read
and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was
called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell
and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is
numbered 3608.
A petition was presented asking for the curbing and guttering
of Sheridan Street from Crawford Avenue to Republic Avenue. Sam
was ordered filed.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled:
"A resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Sheridan
Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the nor -t -lino
of Repu'lalic Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Dodds same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City 3nginear submitted plans and specifications and estimate
of cost for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in Lateral
Sewer Districts No. 152 and 155 and for the construction of Main
Sewer rr{, .
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same were adopted and
approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was
instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and includ-
ing Monday, .October 15th, 1928 at 5:00 P. M.
On motion of Commissioner Dodds, the Board of Commissioners
adjourned.
