10-01-1928 Minutes1 A 1 1 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR M7ETING. COWISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. OCTOBER lst, 1928. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, October 1st, 1928. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Helvering, the roll was -called and Corrmissloners Helvering, Campbell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24th, 1928 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous pukposes." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3603. City Engineer submitted corrected final estimate for paving contract awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, under contract dated June 12th, 19289 and on motion of Commis- sioner Campbell same was approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropriation for the payment of a certain claim." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3604. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of certain storm sewers in the City of Salina to be designated as Storm Sewers No. 9 and 10, and providing for the issuing of Improvement Bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3605. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the construction of a main sewer in Main Sewer District "Q as created by Ordinance Number 3567; providing for the cost thereof and for the levy of special assessments against the property in such district and for the payment of such cost, and for the issuing of bonds therefor." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 3606. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts in the City of Salina, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts No. 152 and 155 and providing for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in the districts created; providing for the cost thereof and for the levy of special assess- ments to pay such cost." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is num- bered 3607. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and paving of Columbia Avenue from the north side of Ash Street to Riverside Drive-" On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 447. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the paving of Republic Avenue from the east line of Fifth Street to the east line of Third-75—treete" On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had: Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 448. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and paving of Oakdale Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to Kenwood Par -k Br dg'e." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 449. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and paving Connecticut Avenue from the south line of Iron Avenue to the Rorth line of Uypsum Avenue." On motion of Commissioner Campbell the resolution was adopt- ed as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the name and is numbered 450. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the grading and paving of Genter Street from the east line of Fifth Street east to the entrancetoEenwood Park." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 451. T he above resolution is recorded in full on Page 97 of Resolution Book Number 2. Trust Deed was received from: Blaine Miller with a deposit of $75.00. Co mmissioner Dodds moved that same be accepted and filed, and that the City Treasurer be instructed to place the deposit in the Gypsum Hill Lot Owners Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number 3550 of the City of Salina. Motion adopted. On motion, an incandescent light was ordered in on North Second Street. On motion of Commissioner Campbell, the Board of Commission- ers adjourned. City Clerk.
