09-17-1928 Minutesrl 1 1 1 F1 11 COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING. COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS. SEPTEMBER 17th, 1928. Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners, Septem- ber 17th, 1928. Meeting was called to 3rder by Mayor Helver- ing, the roll was called and Commissioners Helvering, Camp- bell and Dodds and City Attorney Norris responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 10th, 1928 were read and approved as read. Bids for Street Signal Lighting, as advertised for were received from: Hull Electric Company, Salina, Kansas. United Power & Light Corporation, Salina, Kansas. City Engineers Estimate for the above named work was read. Commissioner Campbell moved that the bid of United Power & Light Corporation, (without bells) be accepted,.and that bid of Hull Electric Company be rejected on account of not being in accordance with City Engineers plans and specifications. Commissioher Campbell moved that Mayor be authorized to sign contract for the above named work. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriations for miscellaneous. purposes." On motion of Commissioner Dodds the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3600. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the city of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of §719804.82 to pay the cost of improving certain streets and alleys, and constructing certain main and lateral sanitary servers, and constructing certain storm sewers in said City." On motion 'of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Helvering, Campbell and Dodds (3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 3601• On motion of Commissioner Dodds, the Board of Commission- ers adjourned.
