MAY 17, 1943.
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 17, 1943. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 10, 1943 were read and
approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appro-
priation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following
vote was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price (5)
Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered A-200.
Mausoleum Deeds for the sale of Crypt Number 252 in the Hillcrest
Memorial Mausoleum to E. C. McKelvey; and Crypts numbered 152 and 153 to
Mrs. R. T. Brown were presented to the Board of Commissioners. On motion of
Commissioner Breon the Mayor was authorized to sign the deeds on behalf of
the City of Salina. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Elliott moved that Section 25 of Ordinance Number 4952 ,
relating to taxicabs, be amended to eliminate the last clause of said section
which reads as follows: "Unless such passenger shall hail such taxicab and
specifically request its services without solicitation from the driver thereof."
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
amending Section 25 of Ordinance No. 4952, relating to taxicabs and repealing
said original Section 25." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commission-
ers.
On motion of Commissioner Breon the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
