Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 3, 1943. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Mor-
genstern, Breon, Elliott, Moore and Price and City Attorney Norris responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 26, 1943 and Regular Meeting
of April 30, 1943 were read and approved as read.

Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1943 received as
Paul Rease Walsh
Leonard Mallary
Cleve R. Minks
Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
W. L. Darling
Jack LeRoy McCumber
Commissioner Elliott moved that applications be approved and license granted.
Motion adopted.
Application was received from J. E. Hull asking permission to transfer
Taxicab License Number 25 from Bell Cab Company to DeLuxe Cab Company. Commissioner
Moore moved that application be rejected by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and providing for certain employees of the Fire Department."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption tre roll was called and the following vote
was had; Ayes: Morgenstern, Breon, Elliott and Price (4) Nays: (1)
Moore. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5028,.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and fixing the salaries and wages of certain officers and employees
of the City of Selina and repealing Section 8 of Ordinance No. 5025." Ordinance was
referred tothe Board of Commissioners.
Letter was presented from the Federal Public Housing Authority, relating
to the annexing by the City of Salina of Project KANS-14051, consisting of 100
units. Commissioner Breon moved that said tract of land be not annexed by the
City of Salina. Motion adopted.
Commissioner Elliott moved that all taxicab stands on public streets in the
City of Salina be discontinued June 1, 1943. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
prohibiting parking stands for taxicabs on the public streets of the City of Salina,
and amending Section 22 of Ordinance No. 4952 and repealing original Section 22
and Sections 25 and 26 of Ordinance No. 4952." Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Moore the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
