FEBRUARY 1, 1943. � f i j t Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners February 1, 1943. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners Morgenstern, Breon and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Commissioner Ferm absent and Commissioner Branson deceased. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 25, 1943 and Regular Meeting of January 30, 1943 were read and approved as read. I I Applications for taxicab drivers license for the year 1943 received as follows: f1 Eugene W. Thompson i Edward Danneker { Or -Ville Lloyd Roy E. Fowler I C. C. Beardsley Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license granted. I Commissioner Breon moved that the liability insurance required to be furnished j by owners of taxicabs licensed by the City, now furnished in amounts of $2500.00 for one person and $2500.00 for one accident for bodily injury, and $1,000.00 for j ! property damage, be increased to limits of $5,000.00 for one person and $10,000 for one accident for bodily injury and $1,000.00 for property damage, and that no { liability policies submitted by taxicab owners be approved except with such limits of i liability. Motion carried. The City Manager reported that he had been notified by H. B. Peatling Motor { i Company that its bid of $1204.75, for the sale of a Diamond "T" 12 ton truck chassis to the Fire Department, which was accepted by the Board of Commissioners on January 25, 1943, could not be performed because of the omission from said bid of a required item of l% per month for storage and interest, and that said H. B. Peatling Motor Company had submitted a new bid for the sale of said truck chassis for $1360.57. Commissioner Price moved that the action taken by the Board of Commissioners { on January 25, 1943 accepting the bid of H. B. Peatling Motor Company for t^e sale Of a 1-2 ton Diamond "T" truck chassis for $1204.75 be rescinded and set aside. Motion i I i f carried. Commissioner Price moved that all bids submitted for the sale to the City of Salina of a 12 ton truck chassis for the Fire Department be reconsidered, including the new bid of H. B. Peatling Motor Company, and thatthe bid of International Harvester + Company for the sale of a 12 ton International truck chassis for the price of $1219.91, which is the lowest and best bid be accepted and that the same be furnished for the Fire Department, and paid from the surplus funds of the dater Works Depart- ment as authorized by law. Motion carried. i Mayor Morgenstern submitted for appointment the names of the following to ` serve on the Library Board: Library Board: Mr. Fe.rl C. Woodward, for a term of four years from February 1, 1943, to succeed himself. Mr. C. F. Prescott, for a term of four years from February 1, 1943, to succeed himself. t On motion of Commissioner Breon the appointments were confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
