JANUARY 4, 1943. —
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 4, 1943. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Morgenstern, the roll was called and Commissioners
Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Price and City Attorney Norris responded. Com-
missioner Perm absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 31, 1942 were read and
approved as read.

Commissioner Breon moved that applications be approved and license
granted. Motion adopted.

Commissioner Branson moved that applications be approved and license
granted for day driving only. Motion adopted.
Mrs. Robert Horsley asked for permission to remodel residence located
at 1604 Highland Avenue to a three-family apartment, in accordance with plans
submitted, which show no structural changes in existing building. Commissioner
Price moved that permission be granted by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced on first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and regulating and providin for the levy and collection of a license
tax upon the business, trade or occupation of owning or operating or maintaining
pin ball games and other devices, and providing a penalty for the violation of
this ordinance." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Mr. B. A. Breon was selected as the City's representative on the
Community Chest.
City Manager reported that the Waterworks Department had charged off
uncollectible accounts for 1942 in the sum of $51.61. Commissioner Price moved
that the charge off of said accounts by the Waterworks Department be authorized
and approved. Motion adopted.
Mr. J. H. Moore, Jr., Mr. Cleve D. Miller and Mr. August Rehberg,
submitted their resignations as members of Saline County War Price and Rationing
Board. Commissioner Breon moved that the resignations be received and filed,
and that the same be accepted to such extent as the Board of Commissioners may
have authority to accept the same and that such resignations be reported to the
State Director of the Office of Price Administration. Motion adopted.
Mr. J. Albert Schwartz submitted his resignation as a member of the
Waterworks Advisory Board, and on motion of Commissioner Branson the same was
accepted.
At the request of the Mayor and Commissioners, the City Manager issued
and delivered to Commissioners Morgenstern, Branson, Breon and Price commissions
as Special Police Officers of the City of Salina.
On motion ce Commissioner Branson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
